Riada Resourcing to take Over Limavady Store for Cancer Focus NI’s Charity Shops Challenge
Published on:February 24, 2025

Riada Resourcing is stepping up for Cancer Focus NI as part of their 2025 Charity Shops Challenge, an initiative led by Cancer Focus Northern Ireland in partnership with Business in the Community Northern Ireland.

On Thursday, 23rd May 2025, Riada’s team will take over the Cancer Focus NI charity shop in Limavady, bringing together their colleagues, customers and the wider Northern Ireland community to raise vital funds and awareness for the charity.

About the Charity Shops challenge

The Charity Shops challenge is an unique and competitive fundraising event where businesses across Northern Ireland take over a Cancer Focus NI charity shop for a day. The goal? To raise as much money as possible through donations, sales and creative fundraising activities both before and during the shop takeover. Since it began in 2011, the challenge has raised over £450,000.

How it works:

  • Businesses compete to raise the most money, with the winning team crowned Challenge Champion

  • Teams fundraise in the lead-up to their takeover day, boosting donations before they even step foot in the shop

  • All money raised supports Cancer Focus NI’s life-changing services, including counselling, family support and art therapy

“Riada are a people-led, community-focused organisation, and supporting meaningful causes is at the heart of what we do,” comments Arlene McConaghie, Riada Resourcing Managing Director. “Cancer Focus NI is a charity close to many of our team, and we’re extremely proud to make it one of our chosen charities for 2025. This challenge is the perfect way to come together, get creative and make a real difference.”
