Award season is here & the team at McAtamney’s Traditional Butchers has reason to celebrate!

Oran McAtamney was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Mid-Ulster Business Awards earlier this month. This award was one which Oran was shocked, yet delighted to receive. Since a young age, Oran worked with his Grandfather and Father, learning his trade and eventually taking over the family business. The company has now grown to include 13 shops, and is symonous with the Butchery Trade in Northern Ireland.

Oran is surrounded by a fantastic team, including his sons, Mark & Declan who collected the Employer of the Future accolade at the Causeway Coast & Glens People Awards.

As a traditional family business that has been around for many years, to be recognised for our vision & innovation for the future, we are truly honoured. With Oran’s knowledge of the butchery trade, and now Mark and Declan’s dedication, ambition & enthusiasm we are excited for what is yet to come.

Of course none of this would be possible without our hardworking and dedicated staff across all areas of the business. An example of this is Anton, our Ballymoney Store manager who was a finalist in the Employee of the Year category, an achievement we are very proud of and one he very much deserved.

As a company we are continuously growing, with our new Limavady Superstore just opened and most recently, the new Express Store has opened at Hillcrest EuroSpar Portrush – just in time for Christmas. Christmas Hampers & Turkey orders are now available in all stores alongside some tasty new Gourmet Kitchen dishes for the festive season following a complete remodel of our Gourmet Kitchen & new Creative Chef to complement your favourite McAtamney’s steaks, roasts & butchers’ favourites.
