Causeway Chamber of Commerce proudly held the 2024 Causeway Coast & Glens People Awards Gala Dinner on Thursday 7th November, bringing together the business community to celebrate the exceptional achievements and talents that define the region. The evening highlighted the dedication, resilience, and leadership of businesses and individuals across all sectors in the Causeway Coast & Glens.
The Chamber took this opportunity to share some recent milestones and its vision for the future. A key highlight was the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Derry/Londonderry Chamber of Commerce, designed to strengthen the region’s voice and address shared challenges, supporting a balanced and inclusive economy. This collaboration reflects the Chamber’s commitment to sustainable growth that benefits all communities across the Causeway Coast & Glens region.
In addition, the recent reinstatement of the Causeway Growth Deal and Coleraine Town Fund in the Chancellor’s 2024 Budget was celebrated as a pivotal step forward. These initiatives bring promising investment potential to the region, aiming to drive economic development, increase opportunities, and boost the area’s appeal for residents, businesses, and visitors.
The Chamber also outlined key strategic priorities for ongoing success:
- Infrastructure: Advocating for improved transport links, enhanced digital connectivity, and sustainable development to support business expansion and elevate quality of life.
- Skills: Working closely with educational institutions and employers to cultivate a skilled workforce that meets the needs of the local economy.
- Growth: Creating an environment where businesses of all sizes can thrive, with support at every stage of their journey.
The People Awards celebrated twelve categories, each reflecting the region’s strengths and adaptability. These awards honour the outstanding contributions of individuals and teams that drive business growth, support economic development, and enrich the local community.
The Chamber extended its gratitude to the event’s partners and sponsors, including Go Succeed NI, as well as Corporate Sponsors: Abbey Autoline, B&E Security Systems, IDS Chartered Accountants, Riada Resourcing, and Roadside Garages. Their support made this memorable evening possible, underscoring the collective commitment to the region’s prosperity.
The 2024 People Awards evening concluded with a call to all local businesses and professionals to share their achievements and showcase the Causeway Coast & Glens as an exceptional place to work, live, and succeed.
